There’s been so much upset and trauma since the election that I think it’s time we’re all good to ourselves. Had a little self love.
And here’s how:
Wrap your arms around yourself in a great big hug of self love.
Stroke your dog or cat. Take them for a long walk in the fall leaves.
Buy something special just for you. A lipstick. A blouse. Shoes! Fun socks.
For sure, treat yourselfto some beautiful flowers.
Take a nap.
Write poetry. Yes, even if it’s bad.
Play with makeup.
Steal time for yourself.
Eat some good chocolate.
Watch escapist TV.
Go to a movie.
Get a massage–some of the best are discount massages done by students at local massage schools. That’s right!
Same with hair and makeup: call your local cosmetology school and see if their practice rates are affordable.
Watch the sun rise. Or watch it set, if you’re not an early bird.
Get out a coloring bookand color a little every day.
Buy a fashion and beauty magazine and page through it. Or House Beautiful. Sunset. Home and Gardens.
Play music loud.
Drink something sparkly.
Celebrateevery little thing.
Don’t forget to have fun.
Life is short.
Do the good stuff.
You’ll never regret it.

I love this so much. We have to remember that in the toughest times, we need to take the best care of ourselves. It’s too easy to spiral into a dark place.

As parents, we tend to put the well-being of our family before our own. I totally agree with this post! So many “me time” activities to choose from to get recharged!
This is a great reminder! We are having tough times in our home and I try to remember to do something nice for myself to help with the stresses. It is not easy!

It was a hectic year, so I decided 2018 was going to be about me. I need to use your list to make a weekly check list. I may not be able to do all of them each week, but I can definitely do one each day.

Self care is so important. One of my favorite things to do is getting a massage. It helps me relax and release tension and stress. I always feel so good after I get a massage.
Thank you! I really needed this. With so many coming forward about the abuse they have experienced, I am just outraged everyday. I cannot believe so many have been subjected to this abuse, and I am even more outraged that our president has been accused of the same kind of abuses but was still elected. Sometimes we have to step away and love ourselves. I think I need some chocolate cake and a nap!
I do make time for myself but I feel it is not enough. Though my children are all grown, I still have that mom-guilt feeling when I am not home. Thanks for this great reminder. I think there are some self-love activities there that I can do at home. 🙂
These are definitely some great ways to love yourself. When I’m having a hard time, I like to pick myself up by going and getting pampered – either getting my hair done or pedicure and manicure.
These are great tips for people greiving or going through something.I also think taking a nap is helpful to recharge getting sleep or just a nap can adjust your emotions.

This helped me so much. I felt like I didn’t love myself enough and started to find love in a person who could not love me as much as the love that I gave. I cried after watching this cause I didn’t love myself enough to give myself the love that I deserve and had to settle for something less. I tend to please people even though I don’t like it, so now I’m not afraid to say the word “no” .Thank you so much!

I really needed this, this week hasn’t been easy on me and I haven’t been easy on myself in the right way. I think a lot of times we just forget how to love ourselves while making sure to move to the direction we want to.

Sadly, so few of us think to put our needs first. So important to fuel our fires though or we won’t be able to be there for others.
