Sleep, elusive sleep

July 27, 2009

I envy Riley his sleep. It’s an all-day and all-night thing, punctuated by bursts of energy and meals.

I’m not sure why my sleep has been so erratic the past few weeks. I don’t want to go to bed until 11pm some nights, while in the past it’s been easy and reliable to crash before 10pm.

Then, I’m up at 3am or 4am. I lose patience with my sleep meditation and just give up.

Last night: down at 11pm, but up at 4am. On nights I teach till almost 10pm, I don’t like it. Not to mention the hour or more of hard work that awaits me at the gym at 10am today.
