Sleep, elusive sleep

September 3, 2009

It’s 4 a.m. I have been awake since 3 a.m.

I hate this middle-age insomnia thing I get periodically.

I’ve decided to make myself a small cup of coffee to try to get back to sleep.

Yes. I can sleep on caffeine. And back in the day, I could sleep on coke.

I just can’t sleep when I’m supposed to. It’s very frustrating.

I’ve been craving perked coffee lately. You know, the kind our mothers used to make in percolaters. Do you remember the “good to the last drop” Maxwell House commercial with those little percolater sounds. I’m obessed with this TV ad:

it is a pain in the ass. I hate it. .25 mg xanax will do the trick though, and if I need it, I do it. I cannot work and do and create and be without sleep. To be honest, I think that insomnia is a sign of a tired mind that just keeps on going. You have had alot going on the last, well, two years? Me too. hmmm.

  2. Oh I so get it. I wish I could find a doctor to give me Xanax. I just don’t ever come across as the kind of person who needs it, I guess. So if i wanted it, I’d probably have to see a pyschiatrist, etc etc. I wish I trusted internet xanax, but I don’t.

Exercise enhances blood flow to the brain, possibly reducing risk of stroke. It also improves reasoning and memory.Regular exercise arouses the brain and slows down degeneration of the central nervous system, which leads to slower reaction times and poorer coordination.
Sleep is vital to your health, both mentally and physically. For adults, sleep is when the body and mind repair itself. Your immune system goes to work while you sleep, fighting diseases and infections.

  4. Sleep also repairs your brain at night. When you lack sleep, it’s harder for you to learn, make decisions and solve problems. If you do not get enough sleep over time, your mental health can deteriorate.
