Sleep. Get some.

September 23, 2010

Some people pride themselves on needing just a few hours sleep, but there’s no doubt about it–we need at least seven hours. For our health.

Sometimes it can be hard to get enough rest: we’re all very busy. But it’s as important as exercise. Sleep allows the body to rest and regenerate. Some neuroscientists now say it plays a key role in learning and memory.

It’s vital.

We know it’s necessary to give muscles down time to repair and recover after working out. Same with the brain.

So think of sleep as part of a workout for your brain –and the second half of your physical workout.

Only more relaxing.

This is another in a series of posts on easy ways to promote good health.
