Straining credulity

“Hey!” hubby said just now, as he eyed up the blankets, sheets and comforter that were all on my side of the bed. “You took my covers!”

“Why is it me? Why couldn’t you have done this?” I asked, plaintively.

“You would’ve made a good defense attorney,” hubby said to me. After he picked himself off the floor where he had collapsed, laughing.

Ok, so maybe it isn’t plausible that he would’ve stolen all the covers and given them to me.

But he IS a generous man….
