No, I never ate this!

Strangest food? That definition is cultural. Still and all, I’d love to know this:

What’s the strangest food you’ve ever eaten? Where were you and what were the circumstances?

I’m not really adventurous when it comes to food. I guess goat head soup when I was a kid.

  2. Alli Smith says:

There are some things I will not eat – like cricket powder. I saw it on Chopped once and was almost gagging. I have eaten Escargot and actually loved it.

  3. Cyn says:

The strangest, albeit tasty and healthy, meal I’ve eaten is guinea pig and quinoa with urine-cured cheese. It was 1979, I’d just arrived in Cuzco by train after driving for months from Canada to Perú.

I’ve noshed other oddities–from frogs and cockroaches, to turtle, snake, gator and giraffe–but the Cuzco combo takes the cake.

  4. Amber Myers says:

I know I’ve never had cricket powder! Eek!

I’m not sure what the strangest thing would be. Maybe octopus? I gave it a taste and was not impressed. The texture was all wrong.

Do you know I don’t think I’ve really eaten anything strange. I’m not very adventurous when it comes to food.

Funny thing-my answer is cricket flour made into a bar. I hated it! I could not get past the idea of eating ground bugs no matter how healthy it was.

Probably raw salmon. I like my fish pretty cooked. I am not very adventurous when it comes to food. I could never win a food challenge because my gag reflex is pretty bad! LOL!

I love food, so I’m not sure about the strangest food that I’ve eaten because I don’t mind trying them all. I’ve never had anything like worms or insects or anything loke that though.
