Swinging tassels

April 17, 2012

Tassels are very Moroccan and we saw them everywhere and in every known color. And some unknown.

I bought one of these small ones for my car rear-view mirror to remind me of our trip.
These larger ones were lovely.

Tassel-swinging along to music is apparently a Moroccan art. We saw it on the street first, see below. The sign above their head says something like “Hey, we’re artists and don’t do this for free.” So Mohamed paid them a few coins.

One night we had dinner at a beautiful restaurant and were entertained by tassel-swinging musicians. “You don’t want to  miss this,” one of our travel companions said as I headed toward the ladies’ room.
“Oh, I can do that with my breasts,” I responded.
Not.
