Why not write special thank you notes for your gratitude practice?

thank-you-note

One of the most fun gratitude practices I’ve encountered is the idea of writing a thank you note to people who have done a kindness.

That’s right. A thank you note that’s not necessarily for a gift or even for an act directed at you. For something you know they did or do regularly to make the world a better place.

Do they encourage others?

Volunteer with kids?

Foster rescue animals?

Share produce from their garden?

Or do something else that gives from their heart?

This kind of thank-you note mean so much! They are usually a surprise, and provide such a spirit-lifting boost.

Oh and I do mean a “note”…not an email. Not a text. But the buy-pretty-cards-and-send-through-the-mail kind of note.

Dollar stores are a great resource for this. But if you pulled a sheet of lined paper out of a notebook and wrote a note? It would have the same effect.

So try it! I’m doing it today and so excited about it!

Another thoughtful way to appreciate someone is to send them a condolence gift, a healing gift or a pretty candle–check out my shop right here.

That is something I’ve been trying to make a conscious effort to do. Letting others know that you appreciate them is so important I think!

Ohmyword, this is such an AWESOME idea!

  3. We’ve pretty much lost the art of writing notes, and of thanking in general.

I do this all the time and I just ordered Thank You cards with pre-addressed envelopes so I can have them at my desk, ready to go!

  5. Jennifer says:

I remember being trained to write thank-you notes as a child.

  6. Meryl says:

Great idea. Sending any kind of a card is unusual nowadays, and when done, much appreciated.

  7. Laurie Stone says:

Love this idea so much. Even coming up with the list is a good practice in itself.

  8. We have lost the art of writing hand written notes but it is time to bring it back.
