Is it just me? Or is summer is passing quickly for you, too?

It’s nearly July and before long, kids will return to school, trees will be shedding their leaves and then winter will be upon us.

The cycle of life is inevitable and in the autumn of my life, everything seems to be moving in fast forward, even double and triple time. It’s hard to stop and savor a moment when each one zooms by in the blink of an eye. And yet, it’s important to apply the brakes along the way.

A slow cup of coffee while reading the morning newspaper, a rowdy game of fetch or catch, a relaxed romantic dinner — these are the moments that make up a life well-lived.

Something I must remind myself of periodically.
