The fountain of youth

September 29, 2009

Italy.

and (my UT colleague) Juliet’s prowess with retouching. I told her I wanted to look 40 again, and she got me as close as she could.

This photo will appear in her book, soon to be out, on web and multimedia writing.

She was kind enough to ask me to write a short piece for it, which I gladly did. The photo accompanies the piece.

By the way, when I say I love teaching at UT, the faculty there are a chief reason. I find them incredibly helpful, collegial, sharing. I interviewed for a tenured faculty position at a California state university several years ago, and didn’t get the same vibe from that group. Not the way it is at UT.

One of the (few) things I will miss about Florida, when I finally get to leave.

I’m about halfway on the gay-straight continuum. My love of shoes pushes me over the edge.

Glad to hear you had a great time in Italy.

  5. The shoes would do it. Yep. They would.
