Torrents

July 1, 2009

After three years of drought, the floodgates have (literally) opened.

We’ve had days of rain, and today, it is torrential. Blockbuster. With tornado warnings.

Traffic photos on TV are showing backups and many accidents all over the area. Flooding issues and evacuations in some areas north of Tampa. You can’t even see the horizon line in photos of the area.

It’s a day to hunker down inside, or so Riley is telling me in periodic barks at the sound of heavy rainfall and thunder.

I have to go out to get my hair cut and colored later this afternoon, but till then, Riley & I are dug in.

He’s not happy with the weather, and he is telling the weather gods that right this very minute.
