What does it really mean to trust the Universe?

We’ve all heard advice to just trust the Universe. Maybe we say that we do. But do we really? Or do we only as long as it gives us our heart’s desire?

What if the Universe hands us some pretty big challenges? What then?

That’s a tough one. Because so many people have been handed a bag of…merde. Or so it seems.

The thing that’s hard to grasp is that the Universe is perfect, even when it’s handing you some tough challenges. Because what this life is all about is LESSONS. For us and others. It’s why earth is considered Soul School.

Trust the lesson. Maybe that’s really what we should be saying and doing.

My dear friend got sick years ago and observed plaintively one day, “I’m not sure what my lesson is supposed to be!”

“Maybe the lesson isn’t for you,” I responded. “Maybe it’s for the rest of us.”

Because that is an option. Maybe our life here is meant to teach others something.

I know I’ve been inspired by her journey and that of other brave souls I have known. Maybe their family members have also learned something important.

It’s important to realize the Universe isn’t a short order cook….the overriding factor is that what happens is for our soul’s growth, our greater good and maybe that of others.

And boy, can that be hard to swallow.

Manifesting can actually work, but it’s a funny thing. I once started working on manifesting something I thought I wanted. But the following morning I woke up in distinct discomfort, knowing that I didn’t really want it. Not really. Because I know it would not support my growth as a person and as a soul.

Yeah, be careful what you ask for, right?

I think of the Rolling Stones:

You can’t always get what you want,
but if you try some time,
you just might find,
you get what you need.

Such a huge and mysterious question, Carol!
How do I even wrap my mind around it?
    Let go, breathe, and…🤓🧐🥳

The author Pam Grout has written books on just this question.

Her stories about people who can and do trust that the universe has their back
    are simply mind-blowing.

We live in A Soul School indeed!

Soul-growth is a painful thing. But you are so right. In the end, you get what you need!

Such a complicated subject. I’ve heard gurus say everything happens for a reason, even the bad stuff. Sometimes that’s hard to fathom from this limited human perspective.
