Valentine’s Day kindness

February 13, 2013
I have an idea for making a wonderful Valentine’s Day:
how about bringing some flowers or candy to a senior citizen home?
Buy a big handful of carnations inexpensively and take them to
your neighborhood care home so everyone can have one
Or happy Gerber daisies.
Sometimes you can find tiny pots of mini-roses at Trader Joe’s or elsewhere.
Candy might also be nice.
{Soft centers only, please!}

I have an entire bagful I’m dropping off today.

Think about all those older people,
some forgotten by family
or even abandoned.
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the holiday of love
than to show some to senior citizens.
Especially since I am one, myself, now.

  1. You are so right. Senior citizens need love just as much as, if not more, than anyone.

Lovely and easy ideas to really make a person feel cared for. Thank you!

  3. Carol, this is a wonderful idea. Thanks for posting it! I know a number of seniors who don’t have anyone to share the day with and they would be delighted to be the recipient of these gifts.

  4. What a sweet and precious idea!! I love how thoughtful this is.
