Later than expected, but soothed by our surroundings. Saw several lovely sunflower fields on our way up the hill.
You should know that I’ve tried two other times to get here. Shit happened. Pretty much.
But now that I’m here:
If I thought Baur B&B was gorgeous from the photos and descriptions, well, nothing prepared me for the actual experience.
First, the place sits atop a hill. It’s fall. Maybe about 75 degrees F.
As M. keeps saying: “Absolutely gorgeous.”
An added bonus: Max, Micha and Diana’s dog.
The two-room apartment is lovely. Our little sitting room is cozy and has all the comforts, including a mini-fridge, flat screen TV, DVD and CD player. It also has “the view.”
Then there are all the lovely artistic touches. Interesting and creative furniture. A wood and wrought iron coffee table that some friends of theirs made that’s too gorgeous for words. The tiles Diana creates. Paintings.
We are expecting to mostly relax. After breakfast, sit and do nothing. I plan to work through writing exercises while I seek visual inspiration on the patio. M. will read the Kindle. We’ll go down to Acqui Terme, the nearest town, for lunch, a big lunch, get some cheese, bread and provisions, then return to our little piece of heaven.
