Writerly support

February 20, 2010

I belong to what can only be described as a writing support group, designed to help us complete our writing projects.

In fact, it’s called The Completion Club.

Our facilitator is an author and writing coach in the UK and our group members come from all over the world. We meet monthly in small groups via teleconference and communicate in between in Google Groups.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I joined. I’ve been in excellent online critique groups, but this is a little different.

It’s wonderful. The various group discussions about writing are stimulating. The facilitator is very, very good. The support members give one another is more helpful than I could have imagined. And I especially like the international flavor.

Thumbs up for The Completion Club!

Several women in the Bay area and I are getting together in early March to organize a writing group.

The infrastructure is falling into place.

Now, I’ve just got to do the work.
