Ok.

Now that my party is over, I just have to say it.

What is it with manners, these days?

Have middle-aged people all forgotten the common courtesies?

When someone’s having a party and asks for an RSVP, it’s not just so they know they’ll have the pleasure of your company.

It’s because a guarantee is given to food and beverage caterers the week prior. The party-giver pays for the amount of food and beverage ordered at that time.

Now, I’ve had event planners report to me in my corporate jobs. I know full well that 20% of people do not show up. Even if they have RSVPed. I won’t even go there.

But what I don’t get is how people my age ignore RSVPs completely.

Even when brides include what Miss Manners calls “those horrid little cards,” many people still do not respond.

It’s rude.

Just saying.
