No, we can’t have it all

September 21, 2026

have-it-allWere you sold a beautiful lie: that you could have it all?

A fulfilling career. A loving family. Financial security. Adventure. Perfect health. A beautiful home. Time for ourselves. And somehow, enough energy to enjoy every bit of it.

I think a lot of us thought we could.

But life doesn’t work that way.

Every choice has a cost. Saying yes to one thing usually means saying no to something else. A demanding career may cost us time with people we love. Raising a family may mean postponing dreams. Choosing freedom may mean giving up security. Even the things we desperately want can bring responsibilities we didn’t anticipate.

I’ve recently come across a blogger who considers herself a failure because she can’t have it all. But no.

That isn’t failure.

That’s life.

The trick isn’t figuring out how to have everything. It’s figuring out what matters most to you—and being willing to let some things go.

Because a life filled with everything isn’t necessarily a full life.

Sometimes having enough is the richer choice.

Sometimes choosing one beautiful thing, wholeheartedly, is better than chasing ten things and being exhausted by all of them.

We can’t have it all.

But we can have a life that feels like ours.

And maybe that’s better.

Your thoughts? Because I know you have them!
