Book gifts you’ll want to give this holiday

book-gifts

Let me help you finish your holiday shopping right here, right now: Why not spread some positivity this holiday with book gifts that inspire and warm our hearts? What can be easier than to send a book–and sometimes with free shipping (depending on vendor).

There’s a lighthearted (or helpful) book for everyone!

Here’s a short list of a few books to consider for holiday gifting…all have been written by friends of mine. Here’s an easy way to do holiday shopping for some of the folks on your list–or even yourself!

Sweet and Humorous

In difficult times, sweet and humorous is just the ticket:

Tail Wags and Whiskers: Pet Tales of Love, Joy & Chaos from 40 Years of Cats & Dogs by my friend Laurie Larson Stone is just the ticket for the pet lover in your life. Her tales are relatable, sweet, funny and even moving.I’ve already given one as a gift!  Perfect for anyone who appreciates the antics of our canine and feline companions.

This is one of my all-time favorites, and so funny! My friend, Lee Gaitan’s hilarious book, My Pineapples Went to Houston: Finding the Humor in My Dashed Hopes, Broken dreams & Plans Gone Outrageously Awry would be a very fun gift!

Heartwarming

My friend, Diane Stringham Tolley, is a super-prolific writer with heartwarming and uplifting fiction for those of us who love the warm fuzzies from a sweet novel.  She’s a positive soul and that’s reflected in her absorbing novels. Check out any of the following for women on your gift list:

Tom, Becoming.  and Blessed by a Curse

For the Writer

Writing That Gets Noticed: Find Your Voice, Become a Better Storyteller, Get Published is the quintessential guide for writers who want to get their bylines out there by an award-winning journalist, viral essayist, 5-time former rmagazine editor-in-chief, and writing professor at NYU (recently awarded the 2023 Teaching Excellence Award). That’s my friend, Estelle Erasmus.

Erasmus offers practical and craft advice, as well as a goldmine of databases that offer credible experts and information. Get his book to help your college-age child prepare, to improve blogging or if  you have been published before and want to get published again and again.  Erasmus even offers a free pitching guide if you sign up for her newsletter. https://estelleserasmus.com  And she hosts the podcast, Freelance Writing Direct.

So check these great book gifts out–I’m sure you’ll find a few that loved ones would appreciate.
