Boxing for Girly-Girls

February 26, 2009

This is my idea of what boxing for girls is like. We’d wear sexy silk boxing robes and pink gloves. Makeup and hair in place.

My trainer thinks I should start boxing at our gym tonight. I figure I should try it before summer hits and it’s 110 degrees in the boxing gym. Beginners go 15 minutes early to “wrap” their hands. Hmm. I am not quite sure what that means.

The class is co-ed, so there will be all sorts of sweaty, gross and grunting guys. They may not appreciate my conception of boxing.

We’ll see.

Hahah, that’s also what I would imagine boxing for girls to look like. Probably was much less glamorous especially since it was co-ed.

I read your post. Definitely a good start if you want to take on boxing. Boxing is no longer restricted to men, a few women are greatest female boxers in the world like Katie Taylor, Laila Ali. You should try it.
