Everyone loved the round Linzer-style cookies with raspberry filling in the center he brought, but the plain S cookies spoke my name. It wasn’t so much the taste, as it’s mild, but the texture. The consistency.
I love the linzer (pastry part) but, yeah, the dunkers are great…
So good. And remembering Papa bringing them over to us is such a sweet thing.
Sweet story that left My mouth watering.
Isn’t it funny how certain things ping the memory banks (or what is left of them?)
OMG YES!!! I loved these cookies growing up and my mom would make them- or later get them from Savoia! Thanks for the childhood memory and family connection! x
omg, she made them? Yes, our family connect, cuz! xoxo
Oh yum. I can almost taste them.
and so can I, Laurie!
These are my favorite passages to read. Loving memories of childhood. Snickerdoodles – I made them once (my mother never baked) and the cinnamon has stayed with me my whole life.
