Dance around the Maypole today

May 1, 2009

It’s either a pagan holiday, a celebration of the advent of spring or an international workers’ holiday. Or all three.

But summer is definitely arriving. Yesterday a newscaster mentioned that hurricane season is nigh. June 1. It seems like it just ended. Was Nov. 1 really 6 months ago?

Ah. Time to stock up on water, batteries, candles. To pick up my shoes and leave Riley and me a little room in the closet, the only non-windowed shelter in the house.

But first, a dance around the Maypole.

Happy May Day.
