Don’t mess with Riley’s girl

October 6, 2009

I was between classes today and got this message from my husband. As background, Puddin’ is our chow-chow. She has an ear infection. She weighs 40 lbs. Riley weighs 8 lbs. Here’s M.’s message:

I went out to the porch to medicate Puddin’s ears. Her right ear is still a little tender, so she let out a loud squeal. Riley, in the living room, started barking.

When I walked back into the house, Riley attacked me, snarling and snapping.

He’s planted himself right in front of the door, in the house. Puddin’ is right outside the door, on the porch, and he growls if I approach the door.

“The lunatics are running the asylum,” I told M.
“Yes,” he replied. “And sometimes the dogs run it.”
