Looking at a photograph of a friend of mine and his granddaughter brought back memories of my own beloved grandfather.

How he’d take me for outings when I was a little girl, holding my hand just like my friend is holding his little granddaughter’s.

How he’d dress up in a suit and a wide tie and take the bus to visit me in college.

How he gave me my very first transistor radio. And more love than I thought possible.

How thankful am I to have had Papa in my life.

And how lucky is my friend’s granddaughter.
