Old-fashioned Christmas window stencils

December 5, 2010

Remember the old Glass Wax Christmas stencils of the 1950s and 1960s? Everyone had them. They were a hallmark of the holidays when we were kids. Just thinking about them gives me a warm feeling.

Amidst all the 21st century high-tech holiday hubub, it’s nice to remember some of our childhood traditions. Wouldn’t it be fun to decorate a few windows as a family this year? There’s still time.

You can still find Glass Wax and vintage stencils online, although not for 59 cents. Here’s a promo video from way back to get you in the mood.
