Reality check: it’s still you

I’ve seen too many movies
to believe this would happen to me, he said
& she smiled
& kissed him lightly
& said,
It’s good to let reality in now & then, don’t you think?

It doesn’t have to be traditional
or linear
or even have an immediate happy ending.

You just have to believe that the universe
always rights itself
and
that the impossible can happen.

Be patient.

And ready.
