Regrets, I’ve had a few

regrets

Does anyone get out of here without regret for the life we wish we’d lived?

Or at least regret for something we didn’t do?

Life really is a series of opportunity paths offered us. Doors that we can choose to go through. Or not.

It’s human nature to wonder about the path not chosen, isn’t it?

So sure, I’ve had something that might look and feel like regrets.

But in the end, regrets get us nowhere.

We can’t go back and live those decisions over again.

It’s important to remember that going through one door is always going to mean not going through others.  Each door leads to a different path. Most choices eliminate the others just by definition.

I can think of a few doors that closed because I went through another. And while I might wonder what it would’ve been like to make a different choice, I realize that I would have missed out many (if not all) of the experiences I did have.

So for me?

Regrets are a dead end..

You make a good point. I have a few “I wonder if…” moments more than regrets. Looking back, we see how our lives could’ve taken several roads and yet we took the path we did. Is it all preordained? Can’t help but wonder.

I SO agree. Regret is unproductive!
Look forward…if you spend too much time looking back over your shoulder you just might trip over something special without even seeing it! 😉

  3. I agree. There’s no point in looking backwards except to learn. There’s too much going on in the present where I can impact the future.

What a great title, “Regrets, I’ve had a few.” I’ve had regrets when a door closed and I had to choose another. But for a big career one, losing an election — door closed — led to a new career — journalist.
