Riley update

March 26, 2010

My little love rested all day and tonight, came down to help me cook dinner. (Scallop stirfry in ginger, onion, soy, lemon, broccoli and asparagus. Yum.)

Before that, he flung himself at Little He in a game they enjoy.

And at that point, it was clear he’d turned the corner.

He played with his toys. He killed his prey, shaking and biting it (see dead toy in background.)

He even ate his boiled chicken, which he’d eschewed all day long, causing me no end of worry.

He did all this not an hour after I’d told his vet he was not eating. Of course, I don’t want to be too hasty in my celebration, because we have certainly been here before.

It is amazing, this love we have for our beloved little critters. I appreciate all that he brings to my life.

Even (ok, especially) the defiant little naughty ways that make Riley who he is.

Welcome back, naughty little dog. We missed you.
