Saucy Queen wins title

August 22, 2010

This is my friend Michele Northrup. She founded Intensity Academy, an all natural, gourmet hot sauce company. She also invented every one of their tasty sauces. We call her Saucy Queen.

On top of that, she raises a bunch of boys. Is a wife to the man we call Saucy Dude. And has a job in an environmental school. She’s damn energetic. Plus–she’s NICE and a BLAST! (I miss her!)

The other night, she was named Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Businesswoman of the Year-Manufacturing category. She so deserves it! This is a woman who knows the meaning of focus, hard work and loving what you do. A woman I really admire.

So here’s the deal. You need to get you some of her stuff. Her tea-based, all natural sauces are incredible marinades. I use them for fish and chicken. My favorites: Chai Thai Teriyaki and Green Tea Gourmet.

Ok, I’ll confess. Chai Chipotle Chup? (short for “ketchup”) On fries or on burgers? Or mushed IN ground meat with chopped onions, before you cook up a burger? An explosion of spicy, saucy goodness in your mouth.

So go visit her site and get you some of this sauce. By mail.

The stuff’s already in Whole Foods in Florida. The rest of the world can’t be far behind.

And if you knew Michele, you know that’s not a prediction. It’s a FACT.

Congratulations on your win, Michele!
