Silence is overrated

November 16, 2009

I’m known for calling it like I see it.

It’s not always pretty.

It’s not always welcome.

But it’s usually congruent.

I believe that talking is important.

And that silence is dangerous.

So when I ran across this the other day, its truth stopped me dead in my tracks.

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”
-Dr. Martin Luther King
