Staying current

January 17, 2012
The year has started off with a huge lesson:
that life is short and precious and every day of it counts.

I’ve written before about my inspirational former husband,
who taught me the importance of staying current with those I love.
You may remember that when he lost his 20-year-old daughter,
he was comforted by the fact that he was “current” with her.
That he’d left nothing unsaid. That there was only love between them.

Thanks to his stellar example, I’ve tried my best to live my own life that way.

We don’t know how or when our loved ones will leave this world.
But once they do, there will be no second chances in this incarnation.

This would be a good day to make sure the people you love know it.

Actually, every day is a good day to do that.
