The sweet life

Farm-fresh plums sauteed in a little butter, a hint of cinnamon, a scrape of nutmeg and a whisper of brown sugar.

Served on a breakfast table spread with a Provencal print cloth, accompanied by strong, hot coffee, smoked salmon and fresh-out-from-the-oven focaccia.

On the terrace. An overcast day with a slight chill in the air.

In northwestern Italy.

Sweet.
