We mourn

August 26, 2009

We mourn today the loss of a man who believed we were called to “a better country and a newer world.”

He was an unapologetic liberal. Progressive in the best sense of the word.

Imperfect, as are we all.

His imperfections and sins do not take away from his commitment and contributions to the least of us.

And even after all these years, there is no one to fill his shoes.

An American original.

We thank him for his service to our country.

Rest in peace, Teddy.
