Autumn means it’s time to prepare for the holidays

autumn

I’m in western NY this week and thanks to the warmer weather, the autumn colors have only now begun to show themselves a bit. The climate is definitely changing and not for the better. Still, fall will be here sooner or later. And here’s what our favorite bloggers are saying this week:

Rita

Get your holiday shopping list ready for October sales, advises Rita R. Robison, consumer and personal finance journalist. Target, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart all are having sale days. Check out Robison’s article for the dates and what bargains to look for.

Laurie

Do you have a family member you find a little embarrassing in public? They mean well. You love them. But going out in the world with them is tricky because they always “make a scene”. This happens whenever Laurie takes her small Yorkie terrier Libby anywhere, but especially to their local dog park. Here are the five most awkward moments…

Rebecca

Would you shop on a shopping site specifically designed for people over 60? Rebecca Olkowski, with BabyBoomster.com interviewed Laura Lynn Morrisey who designed a site called Silver Savvy to cater to the needs of active and disabled seniors.

Meryl’s on leave this week but catch up with her at her blog right here.
