Channeling autumn

October 14, 2010

You can’t convince me that climate change isn’t real.

It’s mid-October in northern California and today’s high will be around 90 degrees.
The thermometer passed 90 degrees yesterday. Even Riley was panting before bedtime. So I decided today that I would channel “autumn” to prepare for lower and more seasonal temps this weekend.

Nice, aren’t they? I love paintings of all kinds, but have a special appreciation for water colors. Having tried my hand at watercolor in the most amateur of ways, I saw firsthand how difficult the medium is. So I admire watercolorists especially.

What I love best, though, is the dreamy quality of watercolor paintings. Watercolors never fail to draw me right into the scene.

And today, I want them to draw me into a much cooler (weather-wise) scene.
