Gratitude Friday – change

October 30, 2009

I’m grateful that patriotism has been redefined more inclusively under this President.

The prevailing statement about love of country is no longer George Bush’s polarizing “you’re either with us or against us.”

Or “love it or leave it.”

Once again, we have an administration that recognizes that change is not a threat. That wanting it is patriotic.

That knows you can love your country and want to improve it.

An administration that doesn’t require you to wear a flag in your lapel to prove your patriotism.

Grateful for change in the country. Hopeful for patience with inevitably imperfect solutions.
