Gratitude Friday – stumbling blocks

October 9, 2009

I’m not someone easily thrown by circumstances. I’m more apt to look for a solution. To try on various scenarios and to think creatively.

After talking to a property manager in the Bay area, it’s looking the like rental market isn’t soft enough to make our pet situation appealing to many owners. Despite our willingness to put down a huge damage deposit.

We are, it seems, between a rock and a hard place. And it was a visceral disappointment.

I expressed my fear to M. last night: that we’d end up staying in Florida full-time because of the animals.

He thought not. Although we may run two households again. (Maybe that’s just my fate.)

An acquaintance may have a lead on a home we could rent, but it’s a long shot. Still, those discussions are in progress.

“So, you thought this was going to be easy?” I asked myself, this morning.

And while we are not thrilled about buying a house, the fact is that we can. It is an option.

So, today, I’m grateful that we have the means and opportunity to find a living situation for the entire family.

And that we’re happy together.

Friday. Gratitude.
