Hot cocoa for your soul

February 9, 2026

hot-cocoaMid-winter is hot cocoa time, both literally and figuratively. Something to soothe body and soul is just the ticket for the Valentine season. So a cup of comforting hot cocoa is today’s idea.

And if you’re really ambitious, why not make your own, yummy marshmallows to go with your cocoa? It’s not that hard, and it makes all the delicious difference. And why not make extras for S’Mores. A fun project with a sweet reward for a stay-at-home day. Remember that focusing on a fun task is a great way to soothe the soul.

Here’s Ina Garten’s easy recipe for home-made marshmallows to get you started on your yummy drink.

But there’s also a figurative hot cocoa for your soul. Here’s free anti-anxiety meditation that I love.

And one more: Did you know you can like my A Healing Spirit Facebook page HERE for uplifting daily inspirations.

Let’s not allow the difficulties of this time to drag us down.

  1. That looks utterly dangerous.

Yummy. Too bad we didn’t live closer. We could make cocoa and solve the world’s problems together!

  3. I love hot cocoa on a cold day. Never tried making my own marshmallows but hey… nothing like a good cold snap to try something new. Hopping onto your HS FB page now.

  4. Beth Havey says:

Thanks, Carol…there is something even more warming than hot cocoa…I think it brings lots of memories that are warm and fulfilling like the drink itself. And we need that in our cold Chicago climate.
