Ironies

March 12, 2009

I have a big high school class reunion coming up. I’m not interested in attending, but I would love the update book on who’s doing what. (By the way, we had only two black students in my entire town, I think.)

One of the most interesting things I know about my classmates is about one of the guys who was largely thought to be a dullard.

Certainly not one of the the stars of the class and perceived to be in the bottom few. You know, the kind of guy who majored in auto shop.

Who liked fast cars and girls with teased hair and heavy black eyeliner.

The kind of guy who wore iridescent pants. And went to the local community college.

He is now principal of my high school.
