Love me some rural diners

December 22, 2010

Road trips. I love driving through little rural towns. Unlike cities with generic strip centers and malls, small towns have so much character. The best place to experience that character (and characters) is at local diners.

We stopped for breakfast yesterday in Escalon, oh, maybe an hour-plus outside of Yosemite. This little diner was empty but for another two people, but we loved that it was the un-Dennys of breakfast places. I wouldn’t say the food was spectacular, but it was certainly in keeping with the ambience. {We are so not hungry this morning after our spectacular and late dinner last night.}
