Morning is breaking

Into the mystic. It’s dawn at Garrapata State Park in Big Sur, and a full moon is setting.

Dawn and the hours before it are my favorite time of day. The world is still. No cars. No slamming doors. No conversation. A quiet time to be alone with my thoughts.

The day lies before me, its promise awaits.
Dawn at Key West looks like heaven on earth.
