On safe and sorry

Is it really better to be safe than sorry?

I don’t think so. The other day, I saw this quote attributed to musician Paul Simon. I can’t verify its provenance, but I like the thought.

I would rather make interesting mistakes than have safe successes.

I didn’t set out to live my life that way, but I haven’t a single regret that it’s turned out that way.
