Pancake mix and the Oscars: please explain

February 28, 2012

On Oscar night, I heard Ozzy Osborne’s daughter, Kelly Osborne (who, inexplicably, was doing fashion commentary), constantly giggle that Sacha Baron Cohen throwing Bisquick on tuxedo-clad Ryan Seacrest at the Academy Awards last night was the funniest thing she’d ever seen on a red carpet.

Ok, maybe Kelly isn’t known for her maturity or her IQ.

But:

last night I heard grown men, newscasters, say that it was funny. The “best part of the Oscars,” even.

Wow. Is the bar set that low today?

What am I missing?

Maybe someone can explain to me why this is funny.

I’m serious.

{Oh, and I hope that Bisquick was gluten-free.}
