Why, you might ask, would we pan for gold in the heat that is early June in the eastern center part of our state? The heat that was much cooler just before we got here?

It’s my birthday gift* to my husband, who is a fan of all the TV shows about gold miners in Alaska. Since we know so much about panning from watching those morons on Gold Rush Alaska, we thought it might be fun to give it a try.

Just a couple nights away from home.  We’ll make a full report when we return.

Oh, and rest assured: we are NOT camping. No. Way.
